About our Programme

What programme do you offer at the Academy?

We offer NCUK International Year 1 (Business Management) programme at the Academy.

We also offer French Language study as an elective for our students who wish to have working knowledge of the language.

Who are the NCUK?

NCUK stands for Northern Consortium of Uk Universities. There are 11 founding members and they are:

What is the NCUK International Year 1 (Business Management)?

It is a one year, externally moderated programme that leads to Year 2 on an undergraduate business related course at specific UK university after successful completion.

Put simply; it is the best available pathway into year 2 of UK university.

Why are we offering only the Business Management stream of the NCUK International Year 1?

As a new programme we want to make 100% sure that we get things right. Starting with one programme allows us to focus our efforts. Stay tuned. We’ll be rolling out International Year 1 programmes for courses such as computing and engineering in the very near future.

About our academic calendar

When does the school year start?

The academic session at the Academy starts on 7th September 2015.

When does the school year end?

The year ends in June 2016.

The Academy runs a semester based system. There are two semesters in a session, each lasting 16 weeks. The first semester starts in September and ends in January of the following year, while the second semester starts in February and ends in June.

How much are your fees?

Our fee is roughly N2.5M per year. For more specific information, please contact our marketing office or the Accounts department both located at Oxbridge tutorial College, 49 Sobo Arobiodu Street, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

Do you have boarding facilities?

The International Year 1 is non-residential programme for the immediate future.

General Questions

What is the student success rate?

We have recorded 100% pass rate in our first year. All our students have progressed to Year 2 of their desired course of study in the UK. An achievement we are very proud of.

What facilities do you have in place?

As a forward thinking institution, we are constantly upgrading our facilities in order to give our students the best experience. Our state-of-the-art facilities include:

*Modern air conditioned classrooms.

*Interactive whiteboards in every classroom.

*School-wide wifi network with Internet access

*Well equipped resource centre.

Do we enforce a uniform?

The Academy operates like a university and so our students are not expected to wear a uniform. The only requirement we voice is that you are decently dressed.

Is there an age limit for the programme?

Prospective candidates must be at least 18 years old to enrol onto the International Year 1 programme.

What is our average class size?

Our average class size is about 20 students.

How qualified are our teaching staff?

At the Academy, we take the proficiency of our teachers very seriously. Our teachers all hold master’s degrees and are pursuing doctorates in their various fields.

Does Oxbridge Academy assist students in processing admission into international universities?

Our students can only proceed to one of the 11 NCUK partner universities and ensuring that our students progress into UK university is an integral part of NCUK International Year 1. The NCUK team at Manchester, in collaboration with the local staff at Oxbridge, ensure that all our students get a university placement.

What other activities do students participate in?

Apart from lectures, coursework and tutorials, our students also have sessions with renowned entrepreneurs in Lagos called ‘Morning with an Entrepreneur’, We take part in other course related trips and activities. Why not get in touch to find out more?
